There's a quiet confidence to a piece that doesn't try too hard. This stacking rock accent takes its cue from cairns found along riverbeds and coastlines — seven hand-finished paulownia wood forms balanced one on top of the other, each with its own grain, tone and shape.

No two stones are identical, and that's the point. Natural timber grain runs through every layer, from soft white-washed tones at the top through to a deep charcoal base, so the piece reads as considered rather than uniform. At 800mm tall, it holds its own on a console table, sits comfortably on the floor beside a sofa, or anchors a bookshelf that's been feeling a little flat.
